There are two types of coconut water.  One is the green coconut with sweet clear water inside and the at a later phase of life cycle the brown coconut which has thick opaque water and it can also be used to produce coconut oil and other coconut related food products.

The green colored young coconut is one of the most pure drinking liquid water in our world. It gives you a fresh drinking pleasure that you never find in any other water. The taste of coconut is based on different type of soil they are grown on. The sea side land tree coconut based water taste like little salty and in normal ground it tastes a bit little sweet and nutty. Coconut water is great refreshment, especially during summer time. It is many times health beneficiary than packed or fresh fruit juices, sodas and energy drinks and the great thing about it is that It can found almost everywhere. But it grows in abundance in south-east Asia, Brazil and Africa.

Coconut water is helpful for our kidney. The risk of kidney damage is greatly reduced because of the presence of minerals, potassium and magnesium in this water. It helps to increase the urine production and flow. Every urologist around the world recommends it for the kidney stone patients. Hundred ml of Coconut water has 105mg of sodium  and 250mg of potassium. In combination, they help to replenish lack of electrolyte in the body due to diarrhea or any other reasons such as endurance exercise.

Coconut water is a very good source of B-complex vitamins such as riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, thiamin and folate.  It is high in amino acids, enzymes, dietary fiber, vitamin C. it is also helpful for anti bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, which boost the body’s immune system. This water is usually recommended during pregnancy. It helps constipation, heart burn and slow digestion.

Coconut water works well for your skin. Research shows that it has cytokines which is beneficial for anti aging-effects. When applied to acne, sports, wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite and eczema it cleanses and clears the skin, so that you look younger and healthy. Coconut water also helps in growth of nails and smooth hair. It has been claimed that it is also helpful for losing weight as it is low in fat, cholesterol and chlorides. It reduces your hunger level and keeps you full of energy.

It is an excellent drink for diabetics as it is rich in nutrients required by diabetic patients to maintain their sugar levels in control. As already mentioned, It has high amounts of potassium, so it reduces hypertension by promoting excretion of water out of the body. Coconuts are not available all over the world but you can find canned and bottle forms of a coconut water.  In USA, the sale of coconut water went from 0 to 35 million in just 5 years and is increasing day by day. Some popular brands of coconut water are Vita coco and Zico. Overall it is a mandatory drink for health conscious people.
